Arubaito: Improving Japanese on the Job

Although I was receiving a modest monthly stipend from Japan’s Ministry of Education during my foreign exchange and didn’t necessarily have to work, I felt like I needed a bit of extra cash in order to travel around Japan, and so I ended up working a couple of part-time jobs.

The first of these jobs I found through my friend Yuko, who was also working part time, at a small medical equipment assembly factory. She mentioned that they needed more people and though it didn’t pay great, it was actually a lot of fun and that I’d meet new people.
